Recognizing the Signs of a Bed Bug Infestation
Watch for these common signs of a bed bug problem:
- Bloodstains: Small, dark red spots on sheets or pillowcases, left by crushed bed bugs.
- Excrement: Dark or rusty-colored spots of bed bug droppings on mattresses, linens, and walls.
- Shed Skins/Eggs: Presence of bed bug eggshells or discarded skins in their hiding spots.
- Odor: A musty smell emanating from the bugs’ scent glands.
- Live Bugs: Visible bed bugs, similar in size and color to an apple seed.
- Bites: Bites on your skin, often appearing in lines or clusters.
