Meet David Baginski

Another month, another employee to highlight; and although these months seem to fly by at a faster rate, we never run out of exemplary people from our ranks to introduce you to. This is partly due to the fact that we have so many highly trained experts here at Active Pest Control, and it is partly because our company is always growing and always expanding and always adding worthy men and women to the Active Pest Control family.

This month the spotlight is on David Baginski. David has been an integral member of the Active Pest Control family for six and a half years now. He diligently serves as a pest control technician who is committed to the successful eradication of pests in and around your home. He particularly loves to deal with roaches, bed bugs, and fleas, but he enjoys the challenges that all pests pose. In fact, when asked what his favorite pest is, David responded, “roaches, bed bugs, fleas. I love them all!” – And, of course, by ‘love’ he means that he loves to discover their hiding places and eliminate them completely from your home!

One of David’s favorite things about working here at Active Pest Control is that he enjoys the new customer interactions daily; and there surely are plenty of those each day because we are a company on the move, growing and adding to our Active Pest Control customer family continuously.

David is a family man and has been married to his ‘wonderful’ bride for almost 17 years. Together, they are raising two sons who are the joys of their life. When David is not actively solving your pest issues, he can be found spending time with his family or casting a line in his favorite fishing hole…a destination that will have to remain secret for now, as most fishing holes must.

When pests threaten the safety of your family or the integrity of your home, turn to the team that thousands of your friends and neighbors have trusted for more than 40 years with their pest control needs. Perhaps it will be David Baginski that shows up at your door; but if not, you can be assured that it will be someone that is equally qualified and equally worthy to don the Active Pest Control emblem and who will be equally adept at solving your pest control issues. You have our word on that.

Meet Cletius (Jim) Grizzle

One of the many benefits of running a family-owned business is getting to know the people that you work with day in and day out. We feel that our employees are really just an extension of our own family. We care deeply about each and every member of our team and work hard to support them and help them become successful in their chosen pest specialties. We help them through difficulties and rejoice with them in their accomplishments. Many of these relationships develop into long lasting career paths for those special people that are chosen to wear the Active Pest Control name. This is why we take the time each month to introduce you to a member of the Active Pest Control family. We want you to get to know some of the special people that we have the privilege of working with every day.

This month, we would like to recognize the accomplishments of Cletius (Jim) Grizzle and give you the opportunity to find out just what an exceptional man he is. His chosen specialty alone can give you some insight into who Jim really is. While some may choose to shy away from the many challenges faced when specializing in termite control, this is not the case for Jim. He welcomes the challenge that these elusive and troublesome pests pose. He has done his homework and understands their habits and habitats. He has a great eye that can quickly identify the subtle damages that termites leave as an early sign of their invasion and knows how to quickly trace their ‘tracks’ back to the heart of the infestation – the nest. He understands all that is involved to safely and effectively eliminate termites in your home or business and he has the skills to pick the right course of treatment to fit each individual situation.

Jim has been in the pest control business for more than 26 years, spending the past 7 of those years right here with us as a termite technician and is a designated certified operator. He is an integral part of the Active Pest Control team of termite specialists and loves being a part of the Active Pest Control family of professionals. Jim says, “It’s like working for your family, and they give you all the tools to be successful…you can also be yourself.”

Jim states that his favorite pest is indeed the termite! No surprise there. He meets the stress and challenges that termites present with such grace and patience. He truly is great at what he does, and we truly are very lucky to have him as part of the Active Pest Control family.

When Jim is not on the clock, you can find him with his twin boys and two lovely daughters. Being a single dad surely has its challenges, but Jim meets each one with patience and determination – we would expect nothing less from him! As a family, they love to vacation together each year and often enjoy watching movies.

If you are dealing with termites in your home, or if you want to be sure that you don’t, give us a call. You may just get to meet Jim face to face. We are certain that when you do, you will appreciate him as much as we do!

Meet Brad Couey

Meet Brad. Brad Couey is our general manager in Rome, Georgia, and has been a member of the Active Pest Control family for almost 9 years. As a trusted member of the family, Brad serves the Rome area by overseeing all aspects of our pest control operations here. Not only is Brad a natural leader who leads by example, but he is not afraid to pull up his sleeves and ‘get dirty down in the trenches’ when he needs to. He is the kind of guy that would never expect his employees to do a task that he himself wouldn’t tackle which earns him the respect of all that work with him and for him. He also loves to meet people and take care of their problems which makes him an excellent representative to our clients. His determination, education, and experience help him to solve even the most difficult pest issues here in the Rome area.

Brad is registered in Georgia and has his Georgia commercial mosquito license. He is also a certified operator in Alabama – that coupled with his experience and training makes him the perfect choice to head up our Rome office. He has experience in a wide variety of pest issues, but his favorite to tackle is the termite. These elusive and destructive creatures quite often pose a challenge, but Brad is ready and equipped to handle even the toughest and most difficult to reach termite colony.

When Brad is not on the front lines of the pest control battle here in Rome, he is at home with his beautiful wife of 17 years or in the bleachers at one of his two children’s sporting events. While they are both still quite young, it won’t be long before you will find him in the high school stadium cheering them on.

Family is important to Brad, and he loves spending time outdoors with them. Whether it is a walk in the park, a trip to the playground, or a stroll in the woods, the Couey family can be found together having fun.

Brad Couey is a valued member of the Active Pest Control family. He is equipped with the integrity and strength of character that we look for when we expand our ‘family’. If you are looking for much more than a career, consider pest control and consider talking with us. We are always looking for upstanding, trustworthy, hard-working individuals, like Brad Couey, to adopt into our family.

Meet Chris Waters

Can you believe that another month has passed and it is already time for us to highlight one of our amazing pest control specialists again? Wow! And with so many exceptional people to choose from, it makes it a daunting task to choose who we are going to talk about. We are very picky about who we allow to join the Active Pest Control family and represent our name. We want our treasured customers to experience only the best and the brightest which is why we put our prospective employees through a vigorous vetting process and dot our “i’s” and cross our “t’s” through pre-hire background checks and drug testing practices. And you can’t forget the interview process which allows us to come face to face and talk with these candidates in order to determine their character to ensure that you can trust any man or woman that dons the Active Pest Control uniform.

With a long list of worthy candidates for this month’s blog, we have chosen Chris Waters for the spotlight. Chris is an exceptional employee with exceptional character and a strong moral compass. He is married to the love of his life and together they have 6 children to walk through life with. They are also blessed to be able to care for Chris’s brother-in-law who is confined to a wheelchair and proves to be an inspiration to all of them. Chris and his family are very active in their church and place a strong emphasis on family. They are an especially active family and enjoy hiking, camping, swimming, trout fishing, and many other outdoor activities together.

As you can see by his dedication to church and family, Chris is a great addition to the Active Pest Control family. While in uniform, he serves our community as a pest control technician with 6 years of experience. His favorite pest is the spider. He doesn’t enjoy the German cockroach at all. Chris says that the favorite part of his job is, “All my customers. It gives me a sense of satisfaction to help someone with their (pest) problems.” His focus on our customers is one of the things that make Chris such a valuable asset here at Active Pest Control.

The Active Pest Control team prides itself on being able to offer an environment to our employees that is mutually beneficial. Not only is Chris an integral part of our team, but he states how he “has really grown mentally and physically over the last 6 years working with such a great company!!!!” It’s nice to have our commitment to providing an exceptional workplace reinforced with these words and his continual growth!

If you are looking for an exceptional pest control experience, consider giving us a call. You might just meet Chris face to face and discover what a gift he is to us all.

Meet Kenneth Green Utility Technician

One of the greatest assets we have here at Active Pest Control is our employees. They undergo a rigorous hiring process to ensure that we only bring the best and the brightest into the Active Pest Control family. It is important to us that our employees reflect the integrity and grit that has made Active Pest Control the pillar of the pest control industry that it is today, and that has helped us to grow to rank as the 30th largest pest control company in the country (out of over 19,000!). It took a lot of hard work, quality service, and determination to get here, but we aren’t done yet.

Each month we offer you the opportunity to meet one of our valued ‘family members’ in order to help you to know the faces that you will meet and greet as we work to keep you and your home or business pest free. It is always an honor for us to introduce you to our quality pest control specialists that are a trusted part of our team.

This month, we would like to introduce you to Kenneth Green. Ken is a Utility Tech that has been a part of our family for 11 years now. His professionalism, honesty, and hard work ethic have made him an invaluable and integral part of our pest control team.

Ken’s favorite pest to deal with is the termite. Termites are always a challenge and require patience and determination to conquer. This pest is a perfect fit for Ken’s steady hand and his attention to detail. Termites don’t stand a chance when Ken is on the job!

One of the things that Ken likes best about working here at Active Pest Control is the fact that we are a family owned pest control company. It is a real joy to him to work for a company that treats you like family instead of just a number; especially since this company also treats its clients that same way.

Although Ken is a key member of our family, we do allow him some down time to rewind and refresh. During this time, Ken loves to relax by hiking and camping in our State Parks, and on those occasions that he feels a bit more adventurous, Ken enjoys spending time at motorcycle rallies.

If you would like to discover what it means to become a family member instead of just an employee, stop by and talk with us. We are always looking for quality professionals to add to our growing family!

Meet Jay Williams

Well, it’s that time of month again when we get to introduce you to another member of the Active Pest Control family! We are always so excited to share with you the stories of the men and women that we have chosen to ‘adopt’ into our company. This month is no exception.

Meet Jay Williams, Commercial Service Technician. Jay has been a trusted member of the Active Pest Control commercial team for over 5 years now and is a registered technician who is on his way to becoming a certified operator. He is a hard-working, dedicated employee that pours his heart and soul into all he does.

Jay said he doesn’t have a particular ‘favorite’ pest, but that he will “kill them all!” Whether you are dealing with termites, cockroaches, carpenter ants, or rodents, Jay is skilled in the proper products and treatments to safely and effectively eliminate them from your business. He is also a true professional and knows how to treat your business discreetly and efficiently in order to limit the interruptions to your work force, and he is always willing to take the time to educate your staff on exclusion methods and early identification of pests.

One of the things that Jay loves about Active Pest Control is the family oriented atmosphere and values that we possess and that we look for in our employees. Jay states, “I really love the culture we have here at Active Pest Control.” We strive for excellence and hold dear the virtues of integrity, honesty, and hard work, and not just while we are on the clock. It is who we are!

Jay is a happily married man, and has been married for 26 years. They have raised 3 beautiful children and now have 2 grandchildren that are the apples of their eyes. When Jay is not working, he loves to spend time with his family and playing with his grandchildren.

Active Pest Control is the premier pest control company here in Georgia. Our locally owned and operated pest control company has been protecting homes and businesses in Georgia for over 40 years. If you are looking for a career in a top notch, state-of-the-art pest control company and you are a hard-working and dedicated individual that wants to become ‘part of the family’, we would love to hear from you; or if you are looking for a trusted partner in your battle with pests, rodents, or wildlife, we would love to make you ‘part of our family’ too! Either way, Active Pest Control is the right choice when it comes to pest control.

John Burthus, Pest Technician

John Burthus is a great example of the well trained and talented pest control specialists we hire here at Active Pest Control. With seven years experience in the pest control industry and two years as a member of the Active Pest Control family, John is a valued and trusted member of the ‘family’. He is a registered pest control technician and a Sentricon® technician, which means he has the education and experience to deal with your pest control needs – including termites. John can quickly identify the pests that you are dealing with and then safely and effectively eliminate them. He will also let you know exactly how these pests have gained access to your home or office, then give you the information you need to sure up your defenses and prevent a future issue. John can always be counted on to bring his “A” game whenever he is dealing with pests.

John’s favorite pest is the velvet ant, which is actually not even an ant but a wasp. These brightly colored pests are typically red, brown, black, or yellow and covered in a thick, velvety ‘coat’. The male of the species has wings while the female is wingless. The females are especially venomous and can cause serious reactions in people if they sting. These girls, however, are not overly aggressive and most commonly sting when they are stepped on or handled by an unsuspecting victim. The potent, toxic venom of the velvet ant makes them dangerous to humans and is the reason why it is so important for infestations to be handled by a highly skilled professional like John.

Here at Active Pest Control, we pride ourselves on quality service and professionalism. It is the dedication and experience of our hard working technicians that is the backbone of this commitment. Give us a call today, and let John or another of our qualified technicians help develop your personalized pest control plan. You too can join the Active Pest Control family and experience the trusted service that so many have come to know and expect. With exceptional employees, it is no wonder why Active Pest Control is the name to turn to for your pest control needs.

A Family Man Of Integrity

Meet Chris McLendon, one of our Pest Control Supervisors. Chris has been a part of the Active Pest Control family since August of 2008. That is over 8 years of training and experience in pest control; and over 8 years of dedicated, exceptional service from Chris to our clients. He holds HPC certification and has proven to be a strong leader. Chris is a hands-on supervisor and especially loves the mystery and suspense when first arriving at a job with the task of figuring out which of the many pests is an issue in each particular case. Chris stated, “I enjoy the sleuth work associated with resolving any pest issue.” Chris is definitely one of our top ‘pest detectives’!

As is often the case, pests are not always what they seem. For instance, an infestation of fleas could actually have a rodent infestation at its root. The one thing that all pests have in common, however, is that they all have to come from somewhere. To successfully eliminate these pests it is important for our ‘pest detectives’ to determine where exactly they are coming from; and not only eliminate the source, but also the access points that are allowing them entry. This is something that Chris excels at. He takes pride in his work, and the fact that he loves his job is clearly evident, too.

When asked what his favorite pest is, he simply answered, “Ants!” Not a surprising answer considering that they exemplify leadership, diligence, and a hard work ethic that Chris also demonstrates each and every day. Ants don’t need to be told twice how to work hard – they just work hard naturally. They are never deterred and finish what they set out to do. These are qualities that Chris also possesses.

Chris does not always have his detective hat on; in fact, he is a dedicated husband and father of two beautiful daughters. He said that he is ‘quite proud’ of his wife and daughters. No wonder! With the strength of character that Chris demonstrates each day there is no doubt that his lovely wife and daughters share those values, too.

Here at Active Pest Control we strive to offer excellent service and top-of-the-line technology and products to ensure you have a successful pest control solution. A large part of our commitment to excellence is evident through our commitment to hire men and women with integrity, honesty, and honor. Chris is a great example of the quality pest detectives that help to make Active Pest Control the go-to pest control company.
