Meet Jonathan Lucas

Has it really been a month already? My, how time flies when you are busy saving homes and businesses from the adverse effects of pests! But, we checked the calendar, and it really is time for us to highlight one of the amazing members of our Active Pest Control family. This month, we have chosen to introduce you to Jonathan Lucas. Jonathan is one of our services consultants with structural pest control certification. He is, perhaps, the first voice you talk to or the first face that you see when you are looking for pest protection services.

Jonathan knows pests; and he knows the problems that they can cause, which is why he works so tirelessly to keep the homes and businesses in our community safe. He is friendly, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile to serve our community by helping you find the pest protection services that are just right to handle the pests that you are dealing with and to keep new foraging pests at bay. He has an intricate understanding of the many industry leading services that we offer, and you can count on him to help you to choose the exact services that you need, nothing more!

His favorite pest is the termite. Jonathan finds it challenging to deal with termites and knows how secretive and elusive they can be. He also knows that a home or business without proper termite monitoring and control service is a home that is in danger of severe and costly damages. He puts it this way, “Not having termite protection on your home is like driving your car without car insurance!” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!

When Jonathan is not busy helping you protect your home or business from pests, he is spending time with his wife, Valerie, and their two children, Kristen and Jordan. Jonathan says that he has been “married for 32 years – all in a row – to the same person!” which in today’s world is quite an accomplishment! Congratulations Jonathan and Valerie!

If you, too, possess the commitment, dedication, and drive that Jonathan does, we want to talk with you. We are always looking for hard-working, committed people to join the Active Pest Control family. Contact us today to learn more about our competitive wages, excellent benefits package, and positive work environment. Who knows; our next blog might just highlight you!

Meet Commercial Supervisor Rick Gilbert

For the past 43 years, Active Pest Control has built a reputation for safe, effective, eco-friendly solutions to pest pressures administered by knowledgeable professionals whose primary goal is complete pest eradication and complete customer satisfaction. Our success and longevity can be attributed to the caliber of people that we choose to become part of our team, among other things. We screen our prospective employees and check their references to ensure that the men and women that wear the Active Pest Control name are qualified for the position and that they possess strong morals and demonstrate an exemplary character; and each month, we take the time to introduce you to a member of our team.

With so many outstanding and qualified employees to choose from, our biggest difficulty each month is deciding which team member to introduce you to. This month we have chosen one of our valued commercial supervisors, Rick Gilbert. Rick has been a part of the Active Pest Control family of pest professionals for more than 11 years, joining our team in December of 2003. This is not only a testimony of Rick’s dedication and commitment to our commercial clients, but it is also a testimony of our commitment to our team. In fact, Rick said that the thing he loves best about working here at Active Pest Control is, “Our owners truly care about people – regardless if they are an employee, a customer, or in a community organization that we are involved with.”

This is truly our view; and as a company, from the owners on down through the ranks, we strive to remain focused on and committed to the people that we serve whether you are a part of our team, one of our valued customers, or a part of the many community organizations that we support.

Rick is certified in wood destroying organisms (WDO) and household pest control (HPC); both are areas that Rick has excelled in. He brings excellence and experience with him as he services and oversees our commercial clients and has earned a reputation as an exceptional professional that can identify and correct even the most difficult pest pressures utilizing integrated pest management strategies and safe, approved materials that meet all of the standards set for the particular industry he is working with. Rick works tirelessly to ensure that your commercial property is safe from pests and that you are happy with the results!

Aside from being an integral part of our commercial pest control team, Rick has a great sense of humor which is evident in his response when asked what his favorite pest is. With a sheepish grin, he wryly answered, “Dead ones!” This is extremely fortunate for Rick, since he is so adept at locating and eliminating even the most elusive of pests!

When Rick is not hard at work defending commercial properties against harmful and damaging pests, he is spending time with his lovely wife and their only son. Together, they enjoy lacrosse, serving in their church, and spending time with extended friends and family.

If pests are threatening the viability of your commercial property, give the professionals here at Active Pest Control a call. Who knows? You may just meet Rick face to face! And, be sure to tune in next month, same time, same blog, to meet the next employee we choose to showcase.

Meet Wayne Sloman

Another month, another employee for you to meet! We are always so excited to introduce you to our Active Pest Control family of pest professionals because we want you to know like we do, what exceptional people we have on our team; and this month’s choice is certain not to disappoint!

Wayne Sloman is the perfect example of the honest, hard-working men and women that we look for in prospective employees. That is because when we hire new employees, they are not just taking a job with us. They are becoming a part of our extended family; and they represent our name each time they don one of our uniforms, which is why we utilize drug testing and background checks as a part of our stringent hiring process. Typically, our new hires are such a great fit that many stay with us for years. A career with Active Pest Control is a rewarding experience that not only broadens your horizons but also leaves you with a true sense of fulfillment at the end of each day. This is exactly what Wayne was looking for in a career, and it is exactly what he found here at Active Pest Control.

Wayne has been a part of the pest control industry for over 32 years and has spent the past four years representing the Active Pest Control family. As a registered pest control technician, Wayne loves to meet new people and loves to help homeowners solve their pest problems. When asked what he likes best about working here at Active Pest Control, Wayne replied, “I love meeting new people and helping them with their pest problems.” We love that commitment and dedication to our valued customers!

Although there are many pests that Wayne is called on to eradicate, the yellow jacket is his favorite pest to deal with. While most outside the pest control industry will tuck tail and run from a swarm of these ferocious, aggressive pests, Wayne bravely wades right into their nesting sites and mounts his offensive successfully. Wayne states, “I enjoy treating yellow jackets as long as I don’t get stung!” And I am sure that he occasionally takes one for the team, but it is rare.

When Wayne is not busy defending homes against invading pests, he enjoys spending time with his wife of 46 years, Linda, their daughter, and their two grandchildren. Often, Wayne and Linda can be found picking for antiques and collectibles or traveling.

If you or someone you know possesses the high qualities that we are looking for in our prospective employees, consider joining our team of trusted professionals. It all begins with an application. Stop by one of our offices or visit our careers page.

Meet David Baginski

Another month, another employee to highlight; and although these months seem to fly by at a faster rate, we never run out of exemplary people from our ranks to introduce you to. This is partly due to the fact that we have so many highly trained experts here at Active Pest Control, and it is partly because our company is always growing and always expanding and always adding worthy men and women to the Active Pest Control family.

This month the spotlight is on David Baginski. David has been an integral member of the Active Pest Control family for six and a half years now. He diligently serves as a pest control technician who is committed to the successful eradication of pests in and around your home. He particularly loves to deal with roaches, bed bugs, and fleas, but he enjoys the challenges that all pests pose. In fact, when asked what his favorite pest is, David responded, “roaches, bed bugs, fleas. I love them all!” – And, of course, by ‘love’ he means that he loves to discover their hiding places and eliminate them completely from your home!

One of David’s favorite things about working here at Active Pest Control is that he enjoys the new customer interactions daily; and there surely are plenty of those each day because we are a company on the move, growing and adding to our Active Pest Control customer family continuously.

David is a family man and has been married to his ‘wonderful’ bride for almost 17 years. Together, they are raising two sons who are the joys of their life. When David is not actively solving your pest issues, he can be found spending time with his family or casting a line in his favorite fishing hole…a destination that will have to remain secret for now, as most fishing holes must.

When pests threaten the safety of your family or the integrity of your home, turn to the team that thousands of your friends and neighbors have trusted for more than 40 years with their pest control needs. Perhaps it will be David Baginski that shows up at your door; but if not, you can be assured that it will be someone that is equally qualified and equally worthy to don the Active Pest Control emblem and who will be equally adept at solving your pest control issues. You have our word on that.

Meet Chris Waters

Can you believe that another month has passed and it is already time for us to highlight one of our amazing pest control specialists again? Wow! And with so many exceptional people to choose from, it makes it a daunting task to choose who we are going to talk about. We are very picky about who we allow to join the Active Pest Control family and represent our name. We want our treasured customers to experience only the best and the brightest which is why we put our prospective employees through a vigorous vetting process and dot our “i’s” and cross our “t’s” through pre-hire background checks and drug testing practices. And you can’t forget the interview process which allows us to come face to face and talk with these candidates in order to determine their character to ensure that you can trust any man or woman that dons the Active Pest Control uniform.

With a long list of worthy candidates for this month’s blog, we have chosen Chris Waters for the spotlight. Chris is an exceptional employee with exceptional character and a strong moral compass. He is married to the love of his life and together they have 6 children to walk through life with. They are also blessed to be able to care for Chris’s brother-in-law who is confined to a wheelchair and proves to be an inspiration to all of them. Chris and his family are very active in their church and place a strong emphasis on family. They are an especially active family and enjoy hiking, camping, swimming, trout fishing, and many other outdoor activities together.

As you can see by his dedication to church and family, Chris is a great addition to the Active Pest Control family. While in uniform, he serves our community as a pest control technician with 6 years of experience. His favorite pest is the spider. He doesn’t enjoy the German cockroach at all. Chris says that the favorite part of his job is, “All my customers. It gives me a sense of satisfaction to help someone with their (pest) problems.” His focus on our customers is one of the things that make Chris such a valuable asset here at Active Pest Control.

The Active Pest Control team prides itself on being able to offer an environment to our employees that is mutually beneficial. Not only is Chris an integral part of our team, but he states how he “has really grown mentally and physically over the last 6 years working with such a great company!!!!” It’s nice to have our commitment to providing an exceptional workplace reinforced with these words and his continual growth!

If you are looking for an exceptional pest control experience, consider giving us a call. You might just meet Chris face to face and discover what a gift he is to us all.
